ID-75 Touchscreen LCD
The ID-75 is a touchscreen LCD from http://www.massworks.com/. You can design layouts and create macros that send keystrokes to the computer. This means that you can use it to control ANY software on your computer from the touchscreen. I just completed my first layout, which you can download on the page. I think any trekkie would appreciate it. Click to enlarge the screenshots below:
The Main Screen
The Winamp Control Panel
The PowerDVD Control Panel
The main page has a button for each of the most often used programs on my PC. On the left side of every layout are the two big buttons, "Switch Window", and "Close Window". "Switch Window" is equivalent to Alt+Tab, which I use all of the time. "Close Window" is equivalent to Alt+F4 which is really neat when I'm turning off my computer. I just press it over and over until all windows are closed. If everything's closed and you press it once more, the Shutdown window comes up. Pretty neat.
When you press the Winamp button, Winamp magically opens. The menu changes to the Winamp Control Panel and I can choose songs or do whatever I need. When I'm done, I press "Menu", and I go back to the main page. The "Menu" macro also does a Alt+tab so that it automatically switches to whatever I'm working on. If I want to get back to the winamp page, I just hit "Winamp" again and the focus changes to it and the layout goes to the "Winamp Control Panel".
The DVD page just controls PowerDVD. It's almost identical to the Winamp layout.
Everytime you hit a button, it makes the button sound all of you trekkies are used to hearing...well almost. It's the doorbell jingle, but it sounded better than the normal button sound effects. The zip file on the download page has all of the layouts, fonts, bmps, sounds, and original photoshop files. It'll take you a little while to get it all organized, and you'll most likely need to redo the main page to suit your needs. Enjoy!
