The
LCD that I put into my car is a Sharp 6" TFT Color LCD. I bought
it from a company called ECSC for the cheap price of $150. They
had a $99 version, but it doesn't come with the power supply, inverter,
and case. A company called Liquid Image (linked on their page) sells
the necessary circuit board for $22. No soldering involved. But
the $150 version was well worth the money. |

If you're
sitting there still deciding if you want a little text LCD or a
full color graphic one like mine, here are some of the reasons I
chose the graphic LCD. First of all, I can use it as a TV or monitor.
I can hook up a Computer, Playstation, Nintendo, Atari, VCR, and
DVD to name a few. A hell of a lot more versatile than a little
text LCD. The second reason was that it was so cheap. For about
the same price as a decent text LCD, I could get the 6" Graphic
LCD. And this LCD is a TFT active matrix - the best type of LCD
you can buy! Third reason was the coolness factor. Nothing like
a little screen in your dashboard to boost that ego. |

Now
here's how I set up my LCD and put it in my car. It's all pretty
simple. I split up the installation into several pages so that I
could add more images and explanation. To get started, all you need
is the LCD, a multimeter, a hella electrical tape, and a little
patience. |
